(Pardalotus striatus)

Length:  9.5-11.5 cm Uncommon

This bird is nomadic, and lives in diverse habitats across the entire continent. It feeds on insects, beetles, ants, and caterpillars in the crowns of Eucalypts where it creeps, and runs like a mouse.

The call is a sharp clear “witta witta” repeated at several second intervals for prolonged periods. The nest is a hole in a tree, or a burrow in the ground lined with grass, or feathers. Eggs 3 – 5 White.
