Queensland Silver Wattle

Acacia podalyriifolia

Location:  To the left of 12^th tee, left side of 18^th fairway.

This fast growing perennial tree is native to South Eastern Queensland, and North Eastern NSW. The name refers to the velvety silver leaf like phyllodes. It grows to a height of 4m, and a width of 5m. It flowers intermittently throughout the year with a peak in spring. The flowers are perfumed and are arranged in spectacular golden clusters. Seed pods are numerous. Life expectancy of this wattle is about 20 years. Examples are seen near the 9th green, the 3rd fairway, and the 18th fairway.
